Welcome to Connected Psychotherapy & Coaching!
If you have felt out of place most of your life, I want to welcome you into my space. You are seen here. My work is focused on the neurodivergent, queer, nonconforming folks that feel most comfortable on the fringes of society. Whatever season of life you find yourself in, I want you to assure you that your body has the wisdom to help you through it.
I specialize in helping queer and neurodivergent folks heal from childhood trauma and break patterns of codependency through somatic psychotherapy.
I also offer somatic coaching for those who are ready to deepen their personal growth journey, build self-trust, set boundaries, and strengthen their inner compass. My somatic approach is inclusive of your identity, and incorporates mind, body, and spirit into your healing process to create lasting change.
Somatic Therapy

Noticing yourself disconnecting, only to be lost in a painful memory
You are tired of the nebulous goal of building trust back in your relationships and want support to help you and your partner get there
You see the patterns that aren’t working for you anymore, and have felt stuck in the talk therapy model

Finding the Right Fit: Therapy or Coaching?
Both somatic psychotherapy and somatic coaching use body-based approaches to help you access your body's wisdom.
If you're experiencing significant distress, symptoms that interfere with daily functioning, or need support processing past trauma, therapy is likely the right path.
If you're generally functioning well but ready to grow, develop new skills, set boundaries, and strengthen your self-trust, coaching may be a great fit.
Not sure which is right for you? Let's talk about it in your free consultation.
Individual Therapy
The truth is that trauma and codependency leave operating systems in their wake that no longer support the healthy life you want to live. Experiences like anxiety, being easily startled, flashbacks, intrusive memories, distrusting others, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, taking responsibility for others feelings, unclear boundaries, and low self worth.
Combine these with the experiences of being neurodivergent and/or queer, and we find ourselves in a deeply rooted belief that we are somehow always wrong or doing it wrong. There is an intersectionality with trauma and codependency, which is why I have made it my mission to help folks find their unique path to healing through somatics.
I know these struggles because I have lived them. I am a queer and neurodivergent therapist who has been on my own trauma and codependency healing journey for the last 10+ years. I can’t tell you that I have all the answers, but I do have a lot of tools in my toolbox that can help you find healing too.
So if you have been in talk therapy and still find yourself feeling stuck, somatic psychotherapy may be a great fit for you. Or if you're ready for growth-focused work that goes beyond traditional therapy, somatic coaching offers a powerful path forward. With the somatic approach, we are going beyond talking and bringing your felt sensations into the room and allowing your nervous system to lead the way. This way you can experience healing, not just talk about it.

Couples & Partnership Therapy
When we are working on healing your partnership in couples therapy, it is important to understand that each couple is going to have their own balance of dependency and autonomy. Especially for neurodivergent and queer folks who are dismantling societal gender roles and heteronormative structures. As well as neurodivergent folks who need to be asking for their needs around overstimulation and processing speeds. When this becomes unbalanced (codependency), the relationship suffers breaches in trust, communication breakdowns, and continuing to stay in patterns that are no longer serving the relationship.

Somatic Coaching
For those who are generally functioning well but want to deepen your personal growth journey, somatic coaching offers a powerful path. You'll learn to speak the language of your body, build self-trust, set boundaries without guilt, and honor your unique needs—all with the collaborative, action-oriented support of coaching. This work is particularly powerful for queer and neurodivergent folks who are ready to reconnect with their bodies in revolutionary ways.

Natalie Alderson, LMFT
Hi, I’m Natalie! I am a queer and neurodivergent somatic therapist. My practice is dedicated to helping you and/or your partner(s) to utilize your body’s wisdom to find healing from trauma and codependency related issues.
I have been in many healing spaces that claimed to be inclusive, and really weren’t, which is why I make it part of my mission to create a safe space for the unique experience of being queer and neurodivergent.
Before starting in private practice, my career has been curated through areas of community mental health and addiction treatment. My mission here on earth is to provide the healing space that I needed along my own journey, which is why I am so passionate about what I do.
Throughout my 8 years in the field of somatic psychotherapy, I have developed my experience supporting adults and couples/partnerships with navigating addiction recovery, childhood trauma, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, infidelity, codependency, polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and communication skills.
I have continued to witness that bringing your body, its memories, and sensations into your healing process is crucial. For neurodivergent and queer folks, this journey looks different because of the disconnection from the body we automatically go to because of the messages we get from society about who we are as people. If we are not engaging your body in the therapeutic process then we are not looking at the root of many emotional issues from a holistic perspective.
So if you’d like to give a body-based (somatic) approach to healing trauma and breaking patterns of codependency, reach out today and let’s book a free 20 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together!
